Garlic Butter Shrimp

An elegant dish that takes only 15 minutes. Impressive results with minimal effort.

Ingredients

  • 500g shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 3 tablespoons butter
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • Juice of 1 lemon
  • ¼ teaspoon chilli flakes (optional)
  • Salt and pepper
  • Fresh parsley, chopped

Instructions

  1. Heat butter and olive oil in a pan over medium-high heat.
  2. Add garlic and chilli flakes. Cook for 30 seconds.
  3. Add shrimp in a single layer. Cook for 2 minutes per side until pink.
  4. Squeeze lemon juice over the shrimp.
  5. Season with salt and pepper.
  6. Garnish with parsley and serve immediately.

Tips for Helpers

  • Don't overcook the shrimp — they turn rubbery.
  • Shrimp are done when they curl and turn pink.
  • Have all ingredients ready before you start — this cooks very fast.

Ingredient Substitutions

  • Prawns of any size work.
  • Lime can replace lemon.
  • Oil can replace butter for dairy-free.
