Grilled Salmon

A healthy, flavourful fish dish that is simpler to prepare than most people think.

Prep: 5 minutes. Cook: 12 minutes. Difficulty: Medium. Serves 4.

Ingredients

  • 4 salmon fillets
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • Juice of 1 lemon
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon dried dill
  • Salt and pepper

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 200°C (400°F).
  2. Place salmon on a lined baking tray.
  3. Mix olive oil, lemon juice, garlic, and dill.
  4. Brush the mixture over each salmon fillet.
  5. Season with salt and pepper.
  6. Bake for 12–15 minutes until fish flakes easily.

Tips for Helpers

  • Don't overcook — salmon should be slightly pink in the centre.
  • The fish is done when it flakes with a fork.
  • Pat salmon dry before seasoning for better browning.

Ingredient Substitutions

  • Any firm fish works — cod, sea bass, or snapper.
  • Fresh herbs can replace dried.
  • Lime works instead of lemon.
