Beef Tacos
Seasoned minced beef in warm taco shells with fresh toppings. A fun, build-your-own dinner the whole family enjoys.
Prep: 10 minutes. Cook: 15 minutes. Difficulty: Easy. Serves 4.
Ingredients
- 500g minced beef
- 1 onion, diced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon cumin
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1 teaspoon chilli powder (adjust to taste)
- 8 taco shells or soft tortillas
- 1 tomato, diced
- 1 cup lettuce, shredded
- 100g cheese, grated
- Sour cream
- Salsa
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
Instructions
- Heat oil in a pan. Cook onion for 3 minutes.
- Add garlic and cook for 30 seconds.
- Add minced beef. Cook for 5 minutes, breaking it up, until browned.
- Add cumin, paprika, and chilli powder. Stir well.
- Add 3 tablespoons water. Simmer for 5 minutes.
- Warm taco shells according to packet instructions.
- Set up toppings in separate bowls: tomato, lettuce, cheese, sour cream, salsa.
- Let everyone build their own tacos at the table.
Tips for Helpers
- The build-your-own format means everyone gets what they like.
- Warm taco shells in the oven at 180°C for 2 minutes — do not microwave, they go soft.
- The meat mixture can be made ahead and reheated.
