Ingredients
- 8 slices thick bread (brioche, white, or sourdough)
- 3 eggs
- 100ml milk
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- Butter for frying
- Maple syrup, honey, or fresh fruit for serving
Instructions
- Whisk eggs, milk, sugar, vanilla, and cinnamon in a wide bowl.
- Melt butter in a non-stick pan over medium heat.
- Dip each bread slice in the egg mixture — about 5 seconds each side.
- Place in the pan. Cook for 2–3 minutes until golden underneath.
- Flip. Cook the other side for 2 minutes.
- Serve with maple syrup, honey, or fresh fruit.
Tips for Helpers
- Do not soak the bread too long — a quick dip is enough.
- Medium heat prevents burning while ensuring the egg cooks through.
- Thick bread works best — thin bread falls apart.
Ingredient Substitutions
- Use any bread — slightly stale bread actually works better.
- Almond milk works for a dairy-free version.
